Day 1 – Check in, Wine & Dine

2:00pm – Check into Yallungah Boutique Hotel

3:00pm – Wine Tasting at Ferment the Orange Wine Centre

Now is the time to taste the cool-climate wines that Orange is renowned for. No need to hop back in your car, simply slip through the private back gate of Ferment, located directly across the drive from Yallungah’s reception.

Housed in a carefully preserved heritage building, Ferment the Orange Wine Centre has a sleek contemporary European interior that emphatically announces that the Orange wine scene has arrived. Traditionally a more boutique region than some of Australia’s major wine-producing region, Orange has retained its historic charm and interest while quietly benefiting from modern wine-making methods. Experience the region’s diverse cool-climate wines through their curated tasting experiences, which include guided flights, paired cheese boards, and even private group bookings.

6:00pm – Dinner at The School House Union Bank

Indulge in an unforgettable dining experience at The School House Union Bank, a hatted restaurant and the flagship space of The Union Bank. Enjoy their extensive shared-style menu, cocktails, and wine in a beautiful courtyard and bar set against a backdrop of the vine-covered heritage Union Bank building.

Day 2 – Shop, Sip & Eat

7:30am – 9:30am – Breakfast at Yallungah Boutique Hotel

Indulge in a two-course à la carte breakfast in the elegant Yallungah Dining Room featuring fresh, local Orange produce. Sip an espresso coffee or tea as you plan your day. 

9:00am – Explore the Orange Retail Scene

After a leisurely breakfast, we suggest a stroll down Summer Street to hit the local boutiques.

12:30pm – Lunch at Byng St Local Store

Established in 2011, the café with the red door has become an Orange icon, known and loved for it’s delicious food, excellent Allpress Espresso and friendly staff. Byng Street Local Store, known to locals just as “Byng Street”, is a table service venue that serves breakfast and lunch seven days a week.

2:00pm – Orange Trike Tours

Discover Orange from a new perspective with Orange Trike Tours. Enjoy an exhilarating afternoon adventure, with tour guide Mark providing insider knowledge as you explore the region’s stunning landscapes, culminating in breathtaking views from the heights of Mount Canobolas.

3:30pm – Wine Tasting Experience at Macquariedale Wines

Embark on a unique wine tasting experience at Macquariedale Organic Wines. Discover their passion for natural winemaking as you savour their range of delicious organic wines, crafted from grapes grown at 1,100 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest vineyards in Australia.

6:30pm – Dinner at The Peacock Room Restaurant, The Oriana

The Oriana’s luxurious restaurant and retro-chic cocktail bar offers a classic European dining menu with a modern twist. Guests can savor dishes like the Parisian Cheese Souffle, so light it’s hard to resist a second helping, the pork 3-ways and succulent Australian lamb sourced from local Kinross Station.

8:30pm – Night Cap at Bela Vista Bar, The Oriana

Perfect for a nightcap, Bela Vista Bar offers a stylishly retro cocktail experience. Guests can relax in plush velvet lounges amidst the soft glow of candlelight, enjoying handcrafted cocktails in a sophisticated setting.

Day 3 – Explore Millthorpe

7:30am – 9:30am – Breakfast & Check-Out, Yallungah Boutique Hotel

Enjoy a leisurely sleep-in and a delicious à la carte breakfast before you venture out to one of Orange’s prettiest surrounding villages, Millthorpe.

10:30am – Arrive in Millthorpe

An easy 20 minute drive from Orange, Millthorpe is a picturesque heritage-listed town with a contemporary edge.

Cobbled, bluestone-lined streets border relatively unchanged 19th century buildings, many now housing fine dining restaurants, cellar doors, sophisticated homewares stores or boutique accommodation. Millthorpe restaurants and cafes range from pretty cottages with cafe courtyards to fine dining options, which are impressive enough to be destinations in their own right. Historic bluestone stables have been reinvented as a cellar door, and classic country pub and bowling club in the village. Millthorpe has a strong community spirit, many festivals and markets dot the calendar, including the highly popular twice-yearly Millthorpe Markets, annual Garden Ramble in Spring and Fire Fair as part of the Winter Fire Festival.
