Wedding Accommodation in Orange NSW
Yallungah Boutique Hotel looks after wedding parties and their guests in the centre of Orange. You can book a block of rooms or take the whole hotel: twenty-two rooms in a restored 1896 homestead and its garden wing on Byng Street, with a two-course à la carte breakfast in the Yallungah Dining Room and the town's restaurants a short walk away. One team coordinates everything, so the couple aren't the ones answering every guest's questions about rooms.
Room blocks and exclusive use
Can we book a block of rooms for our wedding guests?
Yes. Bookings of four or more rooms are coordinated by the Yallungah team, who can arrange room allocation, group billing and dining for the group. Talk to us early. Autumn Saturdays are the most sought-after wedding weekends in Orange, and FOOD Week (April), the Wine Festival (October) and some long weekends fill well ahead and may carry a two-night minimum.
Can we have the whole hotel?
Yes. Yallungah can be reserved for exclusive use, which gives your wedding party and guests all twenty-two rooms, the Guest Lounge with its open fire, the gardens and the Front Lawn for the weekend.
Which room suits the couple?
The Yallungah Suite in the heritage wing is the hotel's signature room, and the only one with a private balcony. It overlooks the Front Lawn, with a spacious lounge around an original fireplace. The other Heritage Wing suites, The Steeple Suite and The Beech Tree Garden Suite, suit parents or the bridal party. The garden-wing rooms (Deluxe Queen, Deluxe King or Twin, Executive Suites and accessible rooms) suit guests.
Celebrating at Yallungah
Can Yallungah host the wedding or reception?
Yallungah suits intimate celebrations and the events around a wedding. The Lamrock Room, an executive boardroom for up to 16, works for a small dinner or reception, and the Yallungah Dining Room is available for private functions. Meals beyond breakfast are served for group bookings and private events, so a rehearsal dinner or a recovery breakfast for the whole party can be arranged. Contact us with your date and numbers to check availability.
Is it a good place for wedding photos?
The heritage homestead, established gardens and Front Lawn make a distinctive backdrop for getting-ready and wedding-party photographs. Let us know your plans so we can work them around other guests.
Getting to the venue
How far is Millthorpe and the vineyard venues?
Millthorpe village is about 28 minutes' drive (23 kilometres) from Yallungah. The cellar doors around Nashdale on the slopes of Mount Canobolas, such as Printhie and See Saw, are about ten minutes away. From Orange Airport the drive is about fifteen minutes, and Orange railway station is a twenty-minute walk.
Can a coach collect our guests from the hotel?
Coaches can't come onto the property (it's a condition of the hotel's development approval), and caravans aren't permitted on the driveway. A coach can still collect guests nearby, and the team will help you plan pick-up and drop-off times. Every room has free, allocated on-site parking.
Practical details
What time can guests check in and out?
Check-in is from 2pm and check-out is by 10am. Early check-in and late check-out may be possible depending on occupancy. That's worth asking about for the couple and anyone travelling home the day after. Luggage storage is available.
Is breakfast included?
A two-course à la carte breakfast is served in the Yallungah Dining Room. It's included in bed-and-breakfast and package rates; confirm the rate type when you set up your block.
