Cargo Road Wines Guide

Cargo Road Wines takes its name from the road that runs south from Orange toward the village of Cargo — a corridor that offers a different landscape and a different winemaking perspective from the northern and eastern circuits. The producer crafts wines that reflect the specific character of this sub-region, with a focus on varieties that express the southern corridor's unique terroir.

The Wines

The range draws on fruit from the Cargo Road corridor, producing wines that complement rather than duplicate what visitors taste on other circuits. The cellar door provides an opportunity to compare how the same varieties — Chardonnay, Shiraz, Pinot Noir — express differently when grown in a different part of the Orange region, reinforcing the message that Orange is not a single-flavour wine region but a diverse landscape with meaningful internal variation.
