Orange NSW Parking Guide

Parking in Orange is easy, mostly free, and rarely stressful — one of the many practical advantages of a regional wine destination over a capital city.

Town Centre

Street parking in the Orange CBD is a mix of free and timed spaces. Most main street parking has 1-2 hour time limits during business hours (9am-5pm Mon-Fri, 9am-12pm Sat). Side streets and back streets often have longer limits or are completely unrestricted. Several free all-day parking areas are available within a short walk of the main shopping and dining strip. On weekends and outside business hours, most time limits do not apply. There are no paid parking meters anywhere in Orange.

Accommodation

Yallungah Boutique Hotel offers free on-site parking for all guests. Most motels and hotels in Orange include free parking as standard.

Cellar Doors

All cellar doors have free parking. Most have sealed car parks, though some smaller rural properties may have gravel or grass areas that can be soft after rain. Space is rarely an issue even on busy weekends — Orange does not experience the parking problems of more heavily visited wine regions like the Hunter Valley.

Tips

If visiting the town centre on a busy Saturday morning, park on a side street rather than hunting for a main street space. Return to your car to drop off wine purchases rather than carrying bottles between shops. Leave a cooler or insulated bag in the boot to keep wine purchases at a safe temperature, especially in summer.
